Mabopane community held a public meeting at Mabopane Indoor Sports Hall in Murula View. Residents are concerned about incorrect electricity and water billing. They are also concerned about criminal activities occurring in the community.

David Ratladi, Inwooners Baagi Civic president called an agent public meeting to let the community deliberate on the issue that they are not happy about.

He said that he believes the community should raise their issues and also come up with a way forward.

Community members came in numbers with their billing statements that show irrational balances. The outstanding balance is mistaken and very high.

They have reported the problem to the City of Tshwane’s office and it is taking forever to get a response. They are suspecting fraudulent activities in municipality offices.

David Ratladi said that criminal activities are also a major problem in Mabopane. People are killed and kidnapped and the police are doing nothing about it. “There is a missing adult since December last year. We haven’t found anything and police are not assisting us”, he added.
