Soshanguve Plaza donated school uniform to Siyokhela Junior Secondary School pupils in need. The school was chosen as a beneficiary because the majority of learners come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Soshanguve Plaza’s generosity has allowed most learners to have a proper school uniform, like their fellow learners.
The goal is to help pupils realise their potential and raise community awareness about the importance of education. Families of uniform recipients and school educators attended the donation event.
Acting principal Lordwell Rathipa said that Soshanguve Plaza’s assistance to Siyokhela Junior Secondary School has been greatly appreciated by the parents of the students.
“We appreciate the effort Soshanguve Plaza has put into our school to help the needy learners who need a school uniform,” said Rathipa.
” Parents were informed of the plans before we handed in the uniforms to our learners.
This has made us educators happy as all our learners will now be equipped with full and in good condition uniforms”, added Rathipa.
Douglas Mkhonto Soshanguve Plaza marketing manager, said that the Soshanguve Plaza donation campaign is an ongoing campaign that donates to needy schools within its area.
They donate where a need arises. The next school that will receive a donation from Soshanguve Plaza is not yet known as they haven’t received a request for help.
“As Soshanguve Plaza we strive to uplift the community we serve, especially the stranded kids, elders and the disabled.
“Education is also a part of our focus and we saw it fit to donate school uniforms to show pupils coming from disadvantaged backgrounds and others how education is of importance to us and how it can better their lives and shape their future”, says Mkhonto
Mkhonto further said that Soshanguve Plaza is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to attend school and feel confident in their appearance.
