Mediclinic Legae, part of the distinguished group of 50 Mediclinic Hospitals and day clinics in Southern Africa, joyously celebrated the grand reopening of its clinic, ushering in a new chapter of healthcare excellence.
The grand reopening took place at Legae in Mabopane showcasing a state-of-the-art medical facility that unveiled the latest innovations in the healthcare industry.
In attendance were notable guests, including Dr. Gerrit De Villiers, Chief Operating Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa, who graced the event as a special guest. Also present was Dr. Rachel Moore, Chief Clinical Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa (MCSA), Professor Ephraim Mokgokong, Professor Arthur Rantloane (Chairperson of the Mediclinic Legae Board) accompanied by the board members of Legae Investment.

Situated 40 kilometers North-West of Tshwane, Mediclinic Legae stands as a cornerstone in delivering superior healthcare services to the local community and its neighboring areas.
The hospital boasts an exceptional cadre of medical specialists, aligning seamlessly with the top-tier facilities and adept nursing personnel that define its professional ethos.
The medical centre boasts a total of 188 beds, with a dedicated provision of 32 rooms designed for mental health patients. This strategic setup ensures sufficient capacity to cater to a diverse range of patients in need of medical treatment.
Addressing attendees Professor Ephraim Mokgokong , the former Vice Chancellor of the Medical University of Southern Africa (MEDUSA) now re-established as Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) said that he was a gynecologist and Octogenarian who consults at Mediclinic Legae and one of the doctors who founded Mediclinic Legae.
Mokgokong humbly acknowledged the recognition bestowed upon him during the event and expressed gratitude for the commendations received.

“I am humbled because I’ve never done anything in my life to be praised. Those close to me can attest to how much I dislike talking about myself, and I genuinely appreciate your kind words.”
“I always look back especially when I am about to fall asleep especially these days on the road I took. While many of the things I’ve done may not have originated from my initial thoughts, people need to understand that. I’ve consistently responded to challenges presented to me, finding solutions to problems people asked me to solve.”
The occasion was not solely centered on the reopening; it also marked a special farewell to Professor Mokgokong, a stalwart who is retiring from the medical profession at the age of 90.
“I have a brain that solves problems I have no challenges in my brain I have only problems to solve, At my age, I am grateful to God for blessing me with the expertise and wisdom to make the decisions I have made at the right time.
“These two significant milestones in my life are MEDUNSA and Medical Clinic Legae,” added Professor Mokgokong.

Professor Arthur Rantloane, Chairperson of the Mediclinic Legae Board, presented key insights. He shared essential information about Professor Ephraim Mokgokong, acknowledging his role and contributions to Mediclinic Legae.
In his speech, Professor Rantloane warmly expressed heartfelt appreciation to each present. As the Chairperson of the board, he conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the collective efforts that contributed to the success of the occasion.

“We have experienced various phases, both highs and lows. There were times when we humorously speculated about the number of punches this hospital could endure, as it seemed to be knocked down from time to time”
“Mercifully, it has not only endured but has also overcome those challenges.” Professor Rantloane expressed.
Dr. Gerrit de Villiers, the Chief Operating Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa (MCSA), emphasised the strategic significance of this hospital within its network. In every clinic, he highlighted its pivotal role in fulfilling its overarching purpose of enhancing the quality of life for individuals.
