Nissan South Africa has unveiled a thrilling new milestone, one that redefines adventure, endurance, and off-road capability. The brand has officially broken the Guinness World Record for the longest off-road journey, setting a new benchmark in 4×4 excellence and marking a momentous achievement for the Navara Warrior by Premcar.
The journey took place in the rugged terrain of the Northern Cape, a proving ground that tested the limits of both man and machine. A team of engineers and drivers embarked on a gruelling expedition, covering over 1,000 kilometres of harsh, unforgiving landscape in four specially equipped Nissan Navara Warrior models.
Designed for the extremes, the Navara Warrior was developed in partnership with Premcar, and it’s built to conquer some of the toughest conditions Africa can throw at it. The vehicles tackled this record-setting journey shod with LT 275/65/R17 MAXXIS RAZR AT tyres—an upgrade from the standard 255/65 R17 setup. These enhancements offered improved approach and ramp-over angles, wider front and rear tracks, and overall superior off-road prowess.
Beyond its performance upgrades, the Navara Warrior boasts distinctive styling inside and out, a signature sports bar, off-road-tuned shock absorbers, and increased ground clearance—all of which contributed to its success in this epic adventure.
Ramy Mohareb, General Manager of Communications for Nissan Africa, shared his excitement about the record-breaking effort.

“This achievement is about more than just numbers,” said Mohareb. “It’s a statement about what the Navara Warrior represents. It’s the toughest vehicle on the continent. We embarked on a daring experience last year driving from South Africa to Egypt, and now, to receive the official Guinness World Record is a double celebration for the entire Nissan team.”
According to both Top Gear SA and Nissan, this record-setting expedition in the Northern Cape is just the beginning. It marks the launchpad for more off-road endeavours planned across the African continent—each one pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in an adventure-ready vehicle.
