Kagiso Mosehla, who has been accused of raping a woman in Soshanguve, has been granted bail of R15 000 after several postponements.
The accused has been in the holding cell since June 7th and will only be released after paying the bail amount set by the court.
However, the Transformation Alliance party is unhappy with the court ruling. But, it finds comfort in conditions attached to this ruling that the accused, Kagiso Mosehla does not come into contact with the victim and signs at the Police station twice a week.
“TTA will continue to attend the proceedings until this matter is finalized. We will do our best to support the victims, as a party that stands strongly against abuse. We will continue to raise these issues and fight for law and order in our country,” said Transformation Alliance President Abel Tau.
The conclusion of the bail hearing marks the start of the trial, which will start on the 06th of September 2023. In the meantime, the accused is innocent until proven guilty.
