Soulbent Projects, a renowned nonprofit organisation dedicated to environmental conservation, recently spearheaded a commendable cleanup initiative in Ramotse, Hammanskraal.
Understanding the dire consequences of environmental contamination, Soulbent Projects restored the community’s cleanliness and vitality.
According to Lucas Makhado, founder of Soulbent Projects, the initiative was not only to clean the streets, but also to educate and encourage the people of Hammanskraal that littering is a personal problem that will consume their community.

The clean-up initiative was a success, with an impressive amount of litter collected.
The dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly, picking up plastic bottles, food wrappers, cigarette ends, and other debris that had accumulated over time. “We collected over 1009 plastic bags,” said Makhado.
Beyond the physical cleanup, Soulbent Projects also aims to raise awareness about responsible waste disposal and littering’s negative impacts.
By involving the community and fostering a sense of ownership, they encouraged individuals to take pride in their surroundings and be more mindful of their actions.
”We need to save and protect our environment as it needs our hand to keep it clean. Makhado explained.
