A group Municipality security officers have downed tools to demand three-month unpaid salaries. They went to the City’s walk-in center in Bothongo Plaza to express their frustration.
The guards promised not to leave without their salaries and continue chanting to reinforce their demand the following day. Aside from that, they also promised to sleep outside.
There are several security companies affected by the three months without payment issue, including Hotline, Mabotwane, Batlhokomedi, and other Five security companies.
The employees complain that third-party private companies engage in shady business practices that steal from them.
Hlengiwe Ngwenya Security Forum Spokesperson believes there will be no payment anytime soon as there is no commitment.
She continued saying that if they do make the payments they expect to get them on the 15th. It takes days and weekends for the payment process to be completed.
