A burst pipe in Soshanguve at Block H is finally being repaired after being broken for more than a year which led to water being drained into the ground.

Mr. Sibiya’s family and other local business owners are happy that this matter is being attended to after such a long time.
Supervisor of the Department of Water & Sanitation from the City of Tshwane municipality, Jimmy Motimele explained that the cause of the burst pipe was the aging of pipes and the structures on top of the pipe.

He further explained that what took them so long to fix this burst pipe was proper tools and equipment.
A Bunny Chow business owner next to Sibiya’s Shebeen says that she is happy that their complaint is finally being attended to as there will be no running water next to her restaurant. She is also happy that her customers will have space to order and wait for their meals.

Shebeen owner, Sibiya says he is disappointed at the municipality because they took time to fix the pipe. He continued to say that if a matter as such is being reported, the City of Tshwane has to come within 3 to 5 days after reporting. This is not wait for almost 2 years.
“Despite my disappointment, I am happy that our complaint is finally being attended to, and there is no running water”, Sibiya concluded.
