The Rietgat police put over 40 suspects behind bars for being on the wrong side of the law this weekend.
The arrested suspects were charged and detained for inter alia, possession of drugs, assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, armed robbery, attempted murder, carjacking, common assault domestic violence related, theft from a motor vehicle, malicious damage to property, rape, shoplifting, illegal immigration, perjury, possession of the stolen motor vehicle, drinking and driving and contravention of a protection order.
The Station Commander Brigadier Molatelo Maphoto hailed praises at his members in blue for doubling their efforts in closing the net on these suspects.
“I am very grateful that more boots on the ground are yielding positive results and the members are selflessly putting the safety of the community first by getting rid of bad apples within the community,” said Brigadier Maphoto.
All the suspects will appear before the Soshanguve Magistrate Court.
