Morongwa foundation in partnership with Hebron Mango Tree Owners Cooperative hosted Basadi farmers and business market recently at Mavicks Cnr Unit X, Mabopane. Whereby different business owners exhibit their products and services to everyone. They were also celebrating their one year anniversary since the implementation of the project.
The market was women dominant and everyone had a unique product to offer such as cocktails, perfumes, hampers, clothes, vegetables, herb pastes, and more. Since it was heritage day as well, the day was celebrated with a lot of cultural music and attire. There were also people from SEDA to help those who need assistance with their business it can either be funding or anything that deals with business.
“We started our business in 2016 and we specialise in confectionary, we do wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and more. We heard about the market through a friend, this is our second time coming here and the market so far it is working for us as it gives us exposure because people get to see and buy our products says Mary Mathebula, Demaries Creations founder.
There was also a lady named Lebogang Rakumakwe, she was displaying and selling washable sanitary towels that are more convenient and easy to use. The sanitary towels are odourless, washable without chemicals, made from cotton to prevent leakage and they have different sizes as well.
“The reviews we get from hosting the markets have been phenomenal since we have started. We have businesses that use the markets to network themselves so basically, this is not only about selling a product but the marketing and networking platform” says Nkagare Makhudu, founder of Morongwa Foundation.
