It was raining goals at Soshanguve ext8 ground this past weekend where the much anticipated Teka Famba top 8 tournament took center stage. The tournament lived up to its expectations with a total of 33 goals scored in two days of the tournament.
The tournament was sponsored by AVBOB funeral service Mabopane Branch. Match balls, refreshments, trophies, medals, and entertainment were offered by the branch throughout the tournament.
Experienced side Bucks FC held their nerve in the penalty shootouts to defeat Invaders FC 6-5 on penalties following an entertaining 3-3 draw inside 90 minutes. It was end-to-end stuff as both teams showed their attacking prowess.
Founder and organiser of the tournament Sello Kgosana expressed his delight on the support of the community of ext8 and believes this will inspire many young local players to come out of the shadows.
