Tshwane ANC Youth League in Soshanguve held a Community Outreach Teaching Financial Capability & Skills at Ayanda primary school at Ward 39.
The youth of Soshanguve came in numbers to attend and were offered an array of activities including a financial literacy workshop presented by financial institutions. Skills development opportunities were presented by the South African Manufacturing Technology Development Centre (SMTDC).

According to Ward Council Japan Baloyi in the past, Youth Month was about celebrating and commemorating the youth of 1976 but he feels times have evolved into focusing on and empowering the present youth. He said that he wished to reiterate the relevance of education to the youth of Soshanguve.

“We want to engage with young minds in financial literacy and personal development.
Betty Mokobode ANCYL Chairperson in that Ward said that youth month is to raise awareness of any issues that may be facing and celebrate their achievements.
Community-based NGOs such as Childline SA and SOWIMA were part of the event. Another organisation that made an impact on the day was Retswakae, an organization founded by Kennedy Mayeso that helps the disabled with all their needs.
To round up the event a soccer tournament was presented for performance between local teams. The winners of the tournament walked away with bragging rights, a trophy, and an R1000 cash prize
