SAPS Soshanguve officers impounded a silver Polo 1.6 hatchback on Tuesday, 29 March 2022, at Aubrey Matlala Road in Soshanguve believed to be used in the commission of few cases of robberies around Soshanguve.
Visible Commander Colonel Celia a quick telephonic tip from a community member on Tuesday morning, who saw two undisclosed males exchanging number plates from a silver grey Nissan Juke and a silver Polo at Soshanguve Crossing Mall.
The police reacted quickly to the case and managed to stop a silver Polo, whereby the driver being stopped, and fled the scene, leaving the car deserted on the scene.
The incident took place in Block K, Soshanguve, about a kilometre away from where the vehicle was seen.
When the officials tested the car’s registration number and the VIN number, they found that the registration number applied to a different car and the VIN number was of the same car but with a different registration number.
It was later on found that the mentioned above car was linked with a few cases of robberies, robberies which happened recently around SAPS Soshanguve.
The police confiscated the vehicle for further investigations.
