According to a Police Statement released by Soshanguve Police Station’s Communications Officer Constable Peter Zondi it said “ on Sunday 2022-02-20 at about 02:20am South African Police Services Soshanguve’s crime prevention team was officially on duty and patrolling all sectors”.
It further went on to say that while patrolling around Aubrey Matlala Street approaching Short Left Pub they saw a group of unknown black males fighting. Amongst the group there was a 28 year-old male carrying a firearm.
Police officers approached the suspect and introduced themselves, they then asked for a permit to possess the firearm. Suspect could not produce the permit and was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and was arrested on the spot.
The suspect appeared briefly at Ga-rankuwa Magistrate Court on Monday 21 February 2022.
