Tshwane West District top performing schools and learners were recently honoured for their hard work during the National Senior certificate results. The awards were sponsored by Bokamoso Transport Services, National Association of School Governing Body (NASGB) and Gauteng Department of Education. The awards were held at Soshanguve East Secondary School, North of Pretoria recently. The District achieved 82.8% in the 2021 matric results.
“The awards are held annually with a purpose of celebrating schools and teachers for the hard work they put in to produce exceptional results, Top performing schools during the 2021 matric results include Charlton Vos College of Education , leap science and school , Hoerskool Pretoria Noord ,Curro Academy School and Pelotona Secondary School.”
Hoerskool Pretoria Noord and Winterveldt Secondary School were the biggest winners of the day respectively. Hoerskool Pretoria Noord won the awards for being the best performing school in the circuit and district respectively, Winterveldt Secondary School was awarded for being the most improved Secondary school during last year’s matric results.
Best performing students included Bongani Radebe from Soshanguve East Secondary School who got 300\300 in Business studies. Busi Lizzy Khoza from Dr.Sam Motsuenyane who 299/300 in accounting and business studies respectively, Jabulile Masango from Christian Progress School got 100% in mathematics and Physical science respectively. . Maringa Khensani from Filadelfia Secondary School achieved 79.29%, Ngobeni Tshepo also from Filadelfia. Secondary School achieved 74%.
Motsweding FM Radio Presenter and Comedian Sammy “Fever” Mashabane said that “I will announce the awards on my radio show tomorrow before the 7 o clock news bulletin because the community does not usually talk about things like things it usually talks about negative things that happen in school.”
