Rorisang Ngati (18) is one of the 2021 matriculates’ who have set the bar quite high, and really put the Gauteng Province on the map. This is after she obtained an average of 82% and 6 distinctions, missing the 7th distinction by only 3 points. Rorisang achieved 82% in English HL, 83% Afrikaans FAL, 80% Mathematics, 85% Life Orientation, 87% Life Sciences, 82% Physical Sciences and 77% in Accounting.
Rorisang, a former learner at Prestige College in Hammanskraal in the Gauteng Province, She believes everything can be achieved through determination, hard work and discipline. Despite the global pandemic that hit South Africa for a full two years, she was able to maintain steady performance through effort. She believes no one can set limits to her potential.
Rorisang said she was shocked when she looked at the results online, she told her mother “let’s not get our hopes high, we will buy the newspaper in the morning” this is even after she saw her examination number and her name on the government website. She explains further; “that although you use your Grade 11 results to apply at high institutions, they don’t really determine your final Grade 12 results. If you are determined to do better, you will do better. I am a living example of this.”
Rorisang is looking forward to the future, as she awaits a response from Sefako-Makgatho University where she will be studying dermatology.
