Police Constable, Ronald Masango allegedly shot and killed his estranged wife, 32 year old Tshepiso Loate recently, who is from Kgabalatsane just outside Ga-Rankuwa, after a heated argument in their room.
According to the owner of the rooms in Zone 6 where the pair were renting, he was alerted to a shooting incident that took place at his rooms just before 7am the previous week.
While narrating the ordeal that took place in his rooms, the landlord recalled arriving at the rooms after hearing gunshots and finding 3 x 9mm cartridges outside and a projectile on the steps.
It was also revealed that the couple were going through difficult times and had a lot of problems that they were dealing with and were heading for a divorce.
“The couple had a lot of problems and were going through divorce. But the guy is selfish, why did he have to kill Tshepiso. He could have just ended his life and left her,” these were the words of a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.
According to a police officer close to the case, “On arrival, the owner found a female victim lying on the floor with gun wounds.
“On the bed, he found Constable Masango, dressed in his uniform, bleeding through the mouth. Next to him was a service pistol.”
It is also alleged that after shooting dead his wife, Masango then resorted to turning the weapon on himself, ending his life instantly.
Another neighbor said, “That guy was driving a VW Polo and he came speeding, after the gate was opened he just went in there and shot her. They were arguing for some time and then we heard gunshots.”
