Colleagues, family and friends held a public memorial service to pay tribute to Warrant Officer Katlego Shadrack Mathope (37), who died on the 21st August 2021 due to a motorbike accident.
The accident troubled the lives of his family, friends and colleagues; it also devastated the local law enforcement community and shook the entire community. Katlego will be laid at Mabopane Cemetery on the 28th of August 2021.
There was a drive pass by his former colleagues from the Presidential police station and a speech delivered by the Police Chaplain Lethabo Matlala honoring his memory.
“I would like to tell the Mathope’s family to hold on to the good memory that they have shared with katlego even though their hearts are shattered, but soon they will rejoice in his name as he was a very good and a loving person,” Said Matlala.

Katlego left the community and his family in disbelief and it was not easy for them to share their past and how they knew him.
Bontle Sibanda who is Katlego’s sister sharing her emotional eulogy explained that they have lost dearly as a family and she also thanked Katlego’s former colleagues and the community for their support in their most difficult times.
