The Economic Freedom Fighter Labour Desk has accused the City of Tshwane of it deemed exploitation of workers as it demanded the absorption of contract workers from the municipality “The Labour Desk Co-Ordinator Baatseba Nchabeleng said “

The Economic Freedom Fighters marched to the Tshwane House located at Corner Madiba and Lilian Ngonyi Street but were soon disappointed as the mayor refused to address them.

Co-Ordinator Baatseba Nchabeleng said “Due to COVID-19 regulation we had to limit the number of people to be in attendance, we want all contract workers, securities guards, credit control, waste management, and internship employees to be employed permanently

We want feedback from the mayor Rendall Williams whom the EFF Tshwane labour desk served his office on 08th June 2021 when we marched to the City offices with a memorandum that demands all contract employees be absorbed under the city as permanent workers and save Tshwane taxpayers money.”

Private companies are the ones draining the city of its finances, all that money being paid can be utilised to employ workers permanently with benefits. Doesn’t the city want to create workers with a stable income; we want permanent employment across the board

The EFF has been advocating the absorption of contract workers from municipalities across the country for many years.
