The founder of Greater Winterveld Branch Mahlomola Masombuka held an exhibition to showcase art pieces created from scratch by kids from an orphanage in Winterveldt recently.
Masombuka who is well known as “King M” hosted the event together with Merry Loate who is the founder of the orphanage called Good Hope Community Organization.
The aim of the event was to attract sponsors and funders to assist the kids from the orphanage to grow and possibly pursue a career path in the arts, and also to be helped by the community by donating food parcels and whatever that may be needed by the orphanage.
Amongst the attendees were officials from the Department Rural development who came to witness the wares on display.
“This is so much overwhelming, seeing so much talent and passion really touches me. I so wish they could get raise enough funds or get sponsored in order to go further, they are doing greater things” said Itumeleng Ivon Padi Bojanala District municipality Coordinator and a member of National Movement of Rural Woman,.
The event turned to be a success after the event, King M pleaded with the community to help where they can in order to help the children in pursuing their dreams.
