The MMC for Community and Social Development Services Ms Thabisile Vilakazi flanked by Ms Ms Nomatlou Mahlangu ensured that children engage with parents in different activities courtesy of Golden Youth Club Organization.
The Golden Youth Club which is cooperation with The City of Tshwane was established in 2001 in the dusty roads of Winterveldt. Its main objective is to inject a positive mindset to the people of Winterveldt.
Explaining how the partnership came about Vilakazi said
“The Arts and Culture division always encourages young people especially from rural areas to engage in programs which promotes the indigenous languages, dance and food. I am excited to see this coming out of Winterveldt. Lessons are done through dancing, singing and playing games which makes it more fun for young people”

The Golden Youth Club founder Ms Nomatlou Mahlangu said the main focus is on the performing clubs and Arts education.

Amongst the activities held were ‘Jam food’ which gives parents opportunities to cook and eat with their children and ‘Boikgantsho Ba Rona’ which showcase different cultural dances.
The youth centre is still under construction consisting of dance studios, recording studios, gym museums and a computer centre.
